Nizhneserginskiy Metizo-Metallurgical Plant (NSMMZ) - a subsidiary of the Russian Maxi-Group and based in Revda in the Sverdlovsk Region - late last week commissioned its new EAF No.2 which has a designed annual production capacity of one million metric tons.

With the beginning of production operations at the new EAF No.2, the plant's annual crude steel production capacity will increase to two million metric tons.

In addition, NSMMZ is currently undertaking modernization works at its longs producing mill.

The implementation of the new projects will allow Maxi-Group to increase overall steel production capacity to 4.5 million metric tons by 2010, including 2.5 million metric tons of sheets.
