Vancouver, Canada-based Novadx Ventures Corp. has announced that its emerging metallurgical coal producing subsidiary MCoal Corporation is on track to commission its Rosa Mine shortly after the end of March.

The fully permitted mine, located 43 miles north of Birmingham, Alabama, will produce metallurgical coal using triple-head auger machines. The company said that auger mining dramatically reduces the amount of surface disturbance and allows for the recovery of coal that was previously not possible to mine.

The mining equipment purchased is ready on the site, the company statement said, adding that it anticipates delivery of a contract auger machine by the end of March this year. No other major pieces of mining equipment are required to commence production, which is expected shortly after the auger machine is delivered.
