Houston, Texas-based steel service center North Shore Steel announced today the acquisition of the equipment assets of Houston Blow Pipe, a plate processing business also located in Houston, Texas that has been in operation for over 100 years.
The acquisition includes four press brakes, one of which is a 3,000-ton press brake with a 27.5’ bed, giving North Shore Steel the largest press brake capacity in the Gulf Coast. The acquisition also includes several plate rolling machines, welding equipment, and forklifts.
In a statement, CEO and President Buzzy Bluestone said the acquisition of the press brake equipment is the ideal complement to North Shore Steel’s steel processing capabilities, which includes rolling (up to 10” thick), plasma and oxy fuel burning, press forming, CNC profiling (shells and heads), machining, code welding, and NDE testing.
North Shore Steel offers a wide range of carbon, stainless, aluminum, and galvanized products, including structural steel, pipe, fittings, flanges, and plate. In addition, value-added services include cut-to-length, CNC burning, rolling, press forming, welding and NDE, CNC profiling, CNC machining, and blasting and priming.
