NMDC’s iron ore output up 14.5 percent in April-July

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first four months of the financial year 2017-18 (started April 1) it produced 10.93 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 14.5 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 12.04 million mt, rising by 18 percent year on year.

During the first four months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 4.07 million mt, up 9.7 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 17.5 percent to 6.86 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
