NMDC’s iron ore output up 12.7 percent in April-August

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first five months of the financial year 2017-18 (started April 1) it produced 13.18 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 12.7 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 14.99 million mt, rising by 15.9 percent year on year.

During the first five months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 5.06 million mt, up 7.4 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 16.3 percent to 8.12 million mt, both year on year.
