NMDC’s iron ore output reaches 2.2 million mt in April

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in April, the first month of the financial year 2016-17, it produced 2.2 million mt of iron ore, while its iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 2.55 million mt.
 
During the given month, NMDC's iron ore output and sales from its Karnataka mines amounted to 640,000 mt and 910,000 mt, respectively, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines totaled 1.56 million mt and its sales from the Chhattisgarh mines reached 1.64 million mt.
