India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (
NMDC) has announced that in the first eight months of the financial year 2014-15 (started April 1) it produced 19.08 million mt of
iron ore, registering an increase of 10 percent year on year. The company's
iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 19.88 million mt, up 7.7 percent year on year.
During the first eight months,
NMDC's
iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 6.14 million mt, up 3.5 percent, while the
iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 13.4 percent to 12.94 million mt, both year on year.
