The Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that its quality management system has passed an oversight audit conducted by TÜV CERT, the independent German certifying agency.

During the audit procedure at NLMK's steel production site in Lipetsk, TÜV CERT experts examined NLMK's overall quality management system, confirming its compliance with international standards ISO 9001:2000.

In addition, the experts confirmed the compliance of NLMK's quality management system for hot rolling production with European Council Directive - 97/23/EG and technical regulations - AD 2000 W.

Moreover, NLMK's rolled steel products used in the construction sector, as confirmed by the TÜV CERT experts, comply with Directive 89/106/EEC, and so NLMK has received the right to use the СЄ mark on steel produced for the construction industry.
