Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced its production and sales data for the fourth quarter and the full year of 2016. According to the company statement, NLMK's crude steel output in the fourth quarter increased to 4.2 million mt, up eight percent year on year, following the completion of planned repairs at the Novolipetsk site in the third quarter of the year. In 2016, the company’s crude steel production increased by four percent year on year to 16.6 million mt.

In the fourth quarter, NLMK Group's sales decreased by four percent year on year to 3.6 million mt, due to the decrease in pig iron deliveries. In 2016, NLMK’s sales volume amounted to 15.9 million mt, remaining stable year on year.

In 2016, NLMK Group’s steelmaking capacities were running at 96 percent, up three percentage points year on year.
