Russian Steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has passed a series of audits conducted by TÜV SÜD, the independent German certifying agency. TÜV SÜD experts examined the company's overall quality management system (QMS), confirming its compliance with international standard ISO 9001:2008 QMS requirements. They also confirmed compliance of NLMK's QMS in HRC production with the European Council Directive 97/23/EG Pressure Equipment and Technical Regulations AD 2000 W extending the scope of the certificate to incorporate carbon steel concast slab production as per DIN EN 10 028. In addition, experts confirmed that NLMK's HRC production complies with Directive 89/106/EEC and so NLMK received the right to use the CE mark on steel produced for the construction industry.
The auditors noted the successful QMS operation and improvements, as well as the regulatory base compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, European Council Directive 97/23/EC and Technical Regulations AD 2000 W, European Council Directive 89/106/EЕС.
The NLMK's QMS received a positive appraisal from the auditors; previously issued certificates were revalidated, and the certificate scope as per European Council Directive 97/23/EG was extended.
