NLMK aims to increase its sales of auto sheet in Europe

Russian steelmaker NLMK has stated that in the short run it plans to increase sales of steel for the automotive industry at its European plants by 150 percent, to 1 million mt from the current 400,000 mt per year, driven by firm demand from the biggest automobile concerns in Europe.

In the January-June period of the current year, NLMK sold 4.437 million mt of flat steel products, including 498,000 mt produced by the European division of the company.

In the current year, the company plans to increase steel production by four percent year on year to 15.5 million mt.
