The Novokramatovsky Machine-building Plant (NKMZ), one of the largest machine-building plants in Ukraine, has announced that it has concluded an agreement with one of the country's biggest steel producers Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) for supply of all necessary equipment for the reconstruction of the hot-rolled mill 1700 at the latter's plant.

According to the concluded agreement, NKMZ is to supply all equipment to Ilyich within the next 15 months.

The main aim of the mill's reconstruction is to increase the competitiveness of Ilyich's products.

In addition, upon completion of the reconstruction work the mill 1700 will be able to produce four million metric tons of flat products a year.
