New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 11.3% in April from March

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 53.8 percent year on year to 118,469 units and rose by 11.3 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in April this year totaled 68,990 units, increasing by 13.4 percent as compared to March and up 70 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 58.2 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in April increased by 2.15 percent month on month and were up 101.3 percent year on year, amounting to  18,005  units. Small truck registrations constituted 15.2 percent of total new registrations in April this year.
