According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 8.2 percent year on year to 84,033 units and were down by 23.1 percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in September this year totaled 46,318 units, falling by 26.4 percent as compared to August and up 0.3 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 55.1 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in September decreased by 14.3 percent month on month and were up four percent year on year, amounting to 13,665 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.3 percent of total new registrations in September this year.
