New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 18.1% in June from May

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 20.9 percent year on year to 90,173 units and fell by 18.1 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in June this year totaled 48,410 units, decreasing by 22 percent as compared to May and up 27.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 53.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in June decreased by 35 percent month on month and were up 47.4 percent year on year, amounting to 11,040 units. Small truck registrations constituted 12.2 percent of total new registrations in June this year.
