New orders in German construction industry up 3.2% in February

As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in February this year the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry rose by 3.2 percent year on year, with a 10.8 percent increase in the building construction sector and a 4.9 percent decline in the civil and underground engineering sector, both year on year. In the given month, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €5.6 billion, indicating an increase of 26.9 percent compared to February 2013.

Meanwhile, in the first two months this year, the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry rose by 6.7 percent year on year. During the same period, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €10.4 billion, indicating an increase of 24.4 percent compared to the same period of 2013.
