As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in April this year the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry decreased by 5.2 percent month on month and by 6.1 percent compared to the same month last year, with a 3.8 percent decrease in the building construction sector and a 6.7 percent decline in the civil and underground engineering sector, both year on year.
In April this year, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €5.1 billion, indicating a decrease of 2.1 percent compared to April 2014.
Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry decreased by 0.6 percent year on year.
During the period in question, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €16.2 billion, indicating a decrease of 2.6 percent compared to the same period of 2014.
