New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 58.3% in March from February

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 0.9 percent year on year to 102,899 units and were up by 58.3 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in March totaled 56,310 units, increasing by 47.5 percent as compared to February and down 5.9 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 54.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in March increased by 78 percent month on month and were up 28.5 percent year on year, amounting to 20,425 units. Small truck registrations constituted 19.9 percent of total new registrations in March.
