New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 51.74% in Jan over Dec

In January this year, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 1.03 percent year on year to 124,291 units, up 51.74 percent on month-on-month basis, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In January of the current year, new passenger car registrations in Turkey totaled 81,477 units, increasing by 8.07 percent year on year and by 55.86 percent month on month, accounting for 65 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations. Meanwhile, in the given month new small truck registrations in Turkey decreased by 20.95 year on year to 23,313 units, up 136.44 percent month on month.
