According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year new motor vehicle registrations in
Turkey amounted to 90,733 units, increasing by 1.1 percent month on month and up 2.3 percent year on year. In September, new motor vehicle registrations had decreased by 7.3 percent compared to the previous month.
New passenger car registrations in October totaled 44,329 units, increasing by 15 percent as compared to the previous month and down 3.3 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 48.9 percent of total registrations. Small truck registrations in October, meanwhile, increased by 7.4 percent month on month and were down 4.5 percent year on year, amounting to 17,800 units. Small truck registrations constituted 19.6 percent of total registrations.
In the January-October period of this year, new motor vehicle registrations in
Turkey amounted to 1,035,419 units, with a 38.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
