New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 13.6% in April

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April of the current year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 13.6 percent year on year to 99,434 units, up 12.5 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in April this year totaled 55,297 units, increasing by 7.6 percent as compared to March and up 29.1 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 55.6 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations. New small truck registrations in April, on the other hand, increased by 9.7 percent month on month and were down 8.3 percent year on year, amounting to 14,571 units. Small truck registrations constituted 14.7 percent of total new registrations.
