New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 4.4% in Nov

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November 2011 new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 85,096 units, decreasing by 6.2 percent month on month and down 4.4 percent year on year.
 
New passenger car registrations in November totaled 46,137 units, increasing by 4.1 percent as compared to the previous month and down 7.2 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 54.2 percent of total registrations. Small truck registrations in November, meanwhile, decreased by 14.8 percent month on month and were down 17.5 percent year on year, amounting to 17,816 units. Small truck registrations constituted 20.9 percent of total registrations.
 
In the January-November period of 2011, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 1,120,515 units, with a 33.6 percent increase compared to the same period in 2010.
