New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 21.62% in Oct from Sept

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October of the current year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 13.56 percent year on year to 74,624 units, down 21.62 percent on month-on-month basis. In the first 10 months this year, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey totaled 954,414 units, rising 5.44 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

New passenger car registrations in October this year totaled 44,789 units, decreasing by 13.60 percent as compared to September and down 5.21 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 60 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in October decreased by 19.56 percent month on month and were down 38.35 percent year on year, amounting to 9,428 units. Small truck registrations constituted 12.6 percent of total new registrations in October.
