According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 4.2 percent year on year to 80,434 units and were down by 15.8 percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in September this year totaled 45,916 units, decreasing by 15.9 percent as compared to August and down 0.9 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 57.1 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in September decreased by 10.8 percent month on month and were up 2.6 percent year on year, amounting to 14,018 units. Small truck registrations constituted 17.4 percent of total new registrations in September this year.
