New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 0.7% in June from May

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 27.7 percent year on year to 115,153 units and were down by 0.7 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in June this year totaled 73,966 units, increasing by four percent as compared to May and up 52.8 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 64.2 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in June decreased by 13.3 percent month on month and were up 35.6 percent year on year, amounting to 14,969 units. Small truck registrations constituted 13 percent of total new registrations in June this year.
