Nanjing Steel breaks ground for new steelmaking project

Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Nanjing Iron and Steel Co. (NISCO) has lately broken ground for the construction of a new steel mill, including a continuous slab casting workshop, with an annual steel production capacity of 3.5 million mt, as announced by local media.
 
Construction work is to be carried out by China 20th Metallurgical Group, a subsidiary of state-owned China Metallurgical Group Cooperation (MCC). As previously reported by SteelOrbis, work on the project is scheduled to be completed by September 2013.
