Nanjing Iron & Steel United produces over 2 million mt of medium plate in 2011

According to Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Nanjing Iron & Steel Group, its subsidiary Nanjing Iron & Steel United Co. produced more than 2 million mt of medium plate in 2011, ranking first in terms of medium plate output in China.

In addition, in 2011 Nanjing Iron & Steel United received orders for 143,553 mt of steel plate for marine applications, 5.7 times more than the previous year.

In March 2011, Nanjing Iron & Steel United signed a contract with China First Heavy Industries for the supply of a 4,700 mm wide plate mill.
