The Australian iron ore exploration company Murchison Metals Ltd. (Murchison) has announced that it has issued an inferred mineral resource estimate of 100 million mt for its Rocklea Iron Ore Project in the Pilbara region.

Accordingly, in 2009 Murchison will consider potential development options for its Rocklea Project, including third party rail access on one of several planned and current rail networks, or co-operative development with other explorers in the region.

"To achieve such a significant initial resource in only ten months is an outstanding result that clearly reinforces our view on the tremendous potential of the Rocklea Project," Murchison's CE Mr. Paul Kopejtka commented. "These results confirm Rocklea as an important addition to our portfolio of projects including our flagship 50 percent interest in the Crosslands Resources and Oakajee Port and Rail businesses," Mr. Kopejtka added.
