On August 24, the international rating agency Moody's lowered the credit rating for Japanese government bonds from Aa2 to Aa3.

Additionally, Moody's has adjusted the rating outlook of Japan to stable. As Moody's commented, Japan's financial situation is the worst among the world's industrial countries. The lowering of the credit rating is expected to exert pressure on Japan's political leaders.
