Moldavian Metallurgical Works produces 320,500 mt of crude steel in 2011

According to its preliminary data, in 2011 Moldavian Metallurgical Works (MMZ), a steelmaker based in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, produced 320,500 mt of crude steel and 306,400 mt of finished steel products, including 147,600 mt of rebar and 157,400 mt of wire rod. Moldavian Metallurgical Works reduced production in autumn of last year due to the unfavourable situation in the export markets. However, the company plans to increase production by the middle of February.
