MOC: Average finished steel price in China up 0.5 percent

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (August 14-20) the overall average finished steel price in China increased by 0.5 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of seamless steel pipes, hot rolled strip, welded steel pipes, and common steel round bar in China rose by 1.0 percent, 0.9 percent, 0.8 percent and 0.6 percent week on week, respectively.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China moved up by 1.9 percent week on week. The average price of nickel (Ni> = 99.2%) increased by 0.7 percent compared to the previous week.

In the week in question, the average price of coal in China rose by 0.1 percent week on week. In particular, the prices of coking coal and anthracite coal increased by 0.4 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, week on week, while thermal coal prices remained stable compared to previous week.
