MOC: Average finished steel price in China rises slightly

On November 12, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (Nov. 4-10), the overall average finished steel price in China indicated a slight increase of 0.3 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of 12 mm diameter rebar and 6.5 mm diameter high-speed wire rod were up 0.6 percent and 0.5 percent week on week, respectively.

In the week ending November 10, average prices of minerals in China were up 0.8 percent week on week. In particular, the average prices of iron ore, tungsten ore and zinc ore were up one percent, 0.8 percent and 0.2 percent week on week, respectively. However, the average prices of non-ferrous metals were down 0.5 percent week on week.

In addition, average prices of energy in China in the given week were up 0.5 percent week on week. The average prices of brown coal, soft coal and anthracite were respectively up 2.4 percent, 1.3 percent and one percent, all week on week.
