Mobarakeh Steel Company to increase annual production capacity

Iranian steel producer Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) will increase its annual production capacity by two million mt in the near future, as reported by Iran Daily. Accordingly, MSC’s annual production capacity will increase to 7.2 million mt within about one month from the current annual production capacity of 5.2 million mt. 
 
According to the Iran Daily report, by mid-March next year MSC plans to increase its annual thin steel slab output capacity to 1.5 million mt from 750,000 mt and it plans to launch an iron briquetting project. Meanwhile, the company’s desulfurizing plant went into operation last week and the company is now able to produce desulfurized steel slabs. MSC has invested $3.7 million in these projects, while it expects to make further investments in its steel production.
