Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has announced that it saw a 20 percent increase in shipments received from Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) in 2014.

Last year was a fruitful and record-setting one for MMK and ChTPZ, ChTPZ stated. MMK delivered over 570,000 mt of rolled stock to ChTPZ, including over 460,000 mt produced at its mill 5000. The 2014 shipment volume from MMK to ChTPZ constituted an all-time record high in the history of the cooperation between the companies.

The increase in metal goods shipments primarily has to do with Gazprom’s large-scale projects such as the Power of Siberia, Bovanenkovo-Ukhta, and South Stream. According to the ChTPZ statement, thanks to the close cooperation between the companies, the finished products get certified and checked for quality compliance as fast as possible, which makes the produce much more competitive in the home market and makes it possible to enter new, international markets. In 2015, the two companies are planning to do business together on the same scale.
