Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that as of the end of the current year it shipped 255,000 mt of rolled steel to the Russian pipe producer Ural Pipe Works (Uraltrubprom). Up to now, MMK’s total rolled steel shipments to Uraltrubprom reached two million mt.

The bulk of shipments accounted for coils, which are used for the production of welded steel pipes and round, rectangular and square sections. Meanwhile, at present, specialists of MMK and Uraltrubprom conduct joint development to develop the production of corrosion-resistant steel grades and considering the possibility of expanding the range of supplied rolled steel.

Ural Pipe Works (Uraltrubprom) has an annual capacity for the production of pipes up to 620,000 mt. The pipes are being used in the oil and gas and construction industries, energy, engineering, housing and communal services.
