During a conference, Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that it is constantly working to improve its maritime logistic activities by enlarging ship consignments to reduce transportation costs and increasing the loading speed of ships.

The company stated that the Russian market is a priority for MMK, indicating that the share of deliveries to the domestic market increased from 69 percent in 2010 to 84 percent in 2013. At the end of 2014 and during 2015, the favorable situation in the raw materials markets and the effect of the devaluation of the ruble contributed to the growth in delivery volumes of the company’s products to external markets. This year, MMK’s main export destinations from the port of Novorossiysk have been Europe (50%), the Middle East (35%) and North Africa (15%).
