Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced the conclusion of a supply agreement with US-based engineering enterprise Amcom LLC for the delivery of slag processing equipment.

The equipment will allow MMK to raise its slag processing capacity to 150 mt per hour or about one million mt per year.

The system will be included in a new subdivision - i.e. a workshop for metallurgical slag processing - created for the purpose of waste recycling.

Besides the delivery, installation and launching services, Amcom LLC will also provide an after-sales service during the warranty period and after.

The installation of the new equipment is in line with MMK's goal of increasing its self-sufficiency in raw materials by expanding its raw material base.
