MMK slightly increased steel production in 2005

Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) produced 11.38 million metric tons of raw steel in 2005, which is 0.7 percent higher than 2004's 11.3 million metric tons. However, the finished steel production of the company decreased 9.4 percent year on year to 10.2 million metric tons. The company's raw steel production only in December 2005 was 970,600 metric tons, while its finished steel production was 880,800 metric tons. Meanwhile coke production of the company dropped 5 percent year on year to 5.58 million metric tons through 2005.
