The Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that it is currently undertaking reconstruction works at its flat rolling workshop No.7, which specializes in the production of bent steel sections.

The modernization work, which is in line with MMK's long-term investment program for the period up to 2013, will involve all production capacities of the workshop.

As a part of the current project, MMK has modernized the workshop's mill 1-5, which produces sections for railway car construction. As a result of this modernization, the mill's production capacity has increased to 10,000 metric tons a month.
