MMK issues Jan-Nov production data

The Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has issued its production results for January-November 2007.

Accordingly, during the period in question, MMK produced 8.706 million metric tons of pig iron - down 2.8 percent, 12.138 million metric tons of crude steel - up 6.8 percent, 11.736 million metric tons of rolled steel products - up 6.6 percent, and 1.368 million metric tons of iron ore - up 2.6 percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2006.

However, during the given period MMK reduced its sintering ore output by 6.9 percent to 9.23 million metric tons and its coke output by three percent to 4.9 million metric tons.

In addition, during the first 11 months of 2007, the share of exports in MMK's total production decreased to 39.6 percent from 46.2 percent registered in the corresponding period of last year.
