MMK issues 2007 production results

The Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has issued its production results for 2007.

Accordingly, during 2007 MMK increased its crude steel production by 6.5 percent, its rolled steel output by 7.6 percent but decreased its pig iron output by 2.6 percent year on year. The respective figures in million metric tons are 13.261, 12.203 and 9.482.

During the period in question, MMK produced 976,000 metric tons of semis, 1.788 million metric tons of long products, 6.391 million metric tons of HR, 1.563 million metric tons of CR, 426,000 metric tons of galvanized steel and 179,000 metric tons of pre-painted galvanized steel.
