Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that it completed modernization of its turbo blowing machine No.8 in the previous month and plans to repair blast furnace No. 9 to increase pig iron output and reduce cash costs at the end of this year.

According to MMK's statement, the modernization of its steam power plant, including replacement of a steam turbine and all auxiliary equipment as well as repair of a compressor, had been completed in May this year. The upgrade will enable one of the mill's largest blast furnaces to operate stably throughout the year and also reduce energy input costs.
