MMK carries out first tests on mill 2000

Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has carried out the first tests on the first stage of its mill 2000 complex for the production of cold rolled steel.

According to the tests, the company achieved positive results on high-speed modes and on thicknesses of strips. Currently, the company is systems of automatic control. The installation of the technological equipment for the first stage of the mill 2000 complex has been completed.

The capacity of the complex will be two million metric tons of products per year. The startup of the first stage of mill 2000 is scheduled for July this year.
