Mittal's Cleveland plant to add galvannealing technology

In a move to meet anticipated automotive customer needs, Mittal Steel has decided to add galvannealing capability to its Cleveland plant. The company’s new hot dip line will manufacture coated steel for both exposed and unexposed automotive parts, helping to meet the increased demand for galvannealed sheet used in automotive applications. Mittal has also elected a specialized team to perform related engineering and technological tasks. The new line is slated for completion in early 2006, and galvannealed steel from the line may be available as early as the first quarter of 2007.
