Mittal to sign deal with Jharkhand within weeks

Lakshmi N. Mittal, owner of the world's largest steelmaker, Mittal Steel, indicates that now is the right time for his company to open its first manufacturing plant in India. The great potential for an explosion in the demand for steel in India over the coming years made the decision to establish a plant there a no-brainer for Mittal. Within the next couple of weeks, Mittal expects to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Jharkhand to set up a steel plant.
