Marubeni-Itochu Steel America (MISA) announced Wednesday that it has combined three of its subsidiary metal processing companies into one consolidated company, which it wholly owns. MISA Metal Processing, Inc. (MMP) has been formed from the previous MISA Metal Blanking, Inc.; MISA Metal Processing of Kentucky, Inc.; and MISA Metal Processing of Tennessee, Inc. The newly formed company is headquartered at its Portland, Tennessee slitting operation. Additional slitting capability is at its Louisville Kentucky plant, with blanking capability at its Birmingham Alabama plant. MISA Metal Processing, which operates four slitting lines and two blanking lines, has approximately 150 employees at its three locations.

This transaction is the latest of MISA's moves in the past several years to organize and streamline its subsidiary operations. This consolidation positions MMP to support the future growth of automobile production and other industries requiring high quality metal processing in the southern US, MISA said in a statement.
