Mexico’s iron pellet production declines 8.4 percent in May

Mexico’s iron pellet production in May declined 8.4 percent, year-on-year, to 716,827 mt, according to information released on Friday by the nation’s institute of statistics and geography, Inegi.

According to Inegi, iron pellet production in the January-May period fell 0.9 percent, year-on-year.  Seasonally adjusted data for the month of May indicate the nation’s mining and metals production index was stable, slightly increasing 0.1 percent, month-on-month, but declining 3.5 percent, year-on-year.
