Mexico initiates investigation on Chinese spiral welded pipes

Mexico's Ministry of Economic Affairs has announced that it has decided to initiate a safeguard investigation into imports of Chinese origin spiral welded pipes.

The specifications for the products involved are thickness below 50.8 mm, diameter larger than eight inches and length smaller than 26.82 m, with API5L certification. The HS code for the products in question is 7305.1901.

Petitions for the investigation were submitted on behalf of Mexican producers Tubesa Co. and Tumex Co. The investigation period is from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010.

As requested by the ministry, the interested parties should submit related materials and evidence before 14:00 on August 11, 2010.
