Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, announced Thursday it has extended existing countervailing duties (CVD) over the imports of non-alloyed hot rolled steel from Russia and Ukraine for five more years.

The measure also applies to hot rolled steel materials containing boron, it said, adding the five-year period will start counting from March 29, 2015.

SE said the 21 and 25 percent duties applied for the imports of the product from both Russia and Ukraine will be kept. Hot rolled steel materials containing 0.0008 percent of boron or more, with a width equal to or greater than 600mm and with a thickness inferior to 4.75mm from Russia will also pay the 21 percent tariff.

The products subject to duties currently fall under the Customs Tariff Numbers 7208.10.99, 7208.26.01, 7208.27.01, 7208.38.01, 7208.39.01, 7225.30.04, 7225.30.05, 7225.40.03 and 7225.40.04.
