Mexican auto sales increase in February

Mexican auto sales increased 22 percent in February to 97,558 units, year-on-year, according to data released this week by the nation’s automotive association, Amia.

According to Amia, from January to February, auto sales reached 201,255 units, a 21.6 percent increase compared to the 165,442 units sold in the same period of 2014. Compared to January, the nation’s car sales fell 5.9 percent.

From January to February 2015, Nissan, Volkswagen and General Motors accounted for 61.3 percent of Mexico’s car sales, with 35,055; 52,658 and 36,334 units, respectively.
